Users' nod must for tracking cookies: EU court

The European court of justice has ruled that online companies will require to take "active consent" from the internet users for planting cookies on their smartphone or computer. To get users' consent, the companies can no longer present a pre-checked box telling them cookies will be planted on their device. Cookies are codes which gather info on user activity.
