Sensex falls 289 points to close at 37,397; Nifty ends below 11,100

Equity indices on Tuesday ended on a lower note with benchmark BSE sensex slumping nearly 300 points amid heavy selling in financial stocks. The 30-share index finished 289.13 points or 0.77 per cent lower at 37,397.24. While, the broader NSE Nifty fell 103.80 points or 0.93 per cent to close at 11,085.40.
