Retail inflation at seven-month high in May

Retail or consumer price index (CPI) inflation touched a seven-month high of 3.05 per cent in May from 2.99 per cent in April, government data showed on Wednesday. The figure stood at 2.86 per cent in March this year and the rate of price rise in May is the highest since October 2018, when the rate was at 3.38 per cent.
